The St. Peter Gate named after the two-meter statue of Apostle Peter, which once decorated it, served the formal entrance into the Fortress on the side of the Trinity square. Designed by D.Trezzini the St. Peter Gate is a wonderful specimen of the Russian Baroque of the first quarter of the 18th century and the only triumphal structure from Peter I▓s times, which survived till nowadays.
