In
1996 in the three casemates of the Neva Ramparts to the left of the Neva
Gate a museum complex was opened including a history exhibition, a gallery
displaying graphic works by St. Petersburg artists as well as a workshop featuring
old printing techniques.
The
old printers displayed there are not just exhibits √ they are working
equipment of the workshop.
The visitors to the Pechatnya can see all
the stages of creating prints.
Instruments
and materials as well as printers in work illustrate various techniques of
creating engravings on wood and metal, etchings and lithographs
