About the brand "Vostok"
"Vostok" watchmaker's factory dates from 1942 when one of the Moscow watch-making plants was evacuated to Chistopol - a little town located on the Kama River in the central part of Russia. Different kinds of Defense equipment were the main factory production during the war years, but as soon as the war was over they started to make military mechanical wristwatches - the main production ever since. From 1965 the factory became an official supplier of the Soviet Union Department of Defense.
