The collection of Siamese (Thai) art consists of over 300 items, all dating to the 14th century or later. Yet the 14th to 19th centuries are well represented by this compact collection, consisting mainly of religious wooden, bronze and clay sculptures, with some other religious objects and works of applied art. A small but remarkable group is represented by presents from the Siamese Reformist King Rama V Chulalongkorn to the Russian heir to the throne - the future Russian Emperor Nicholas II - at the end of the last century.
