Mikhail Krechetnikov (1729-1793) was born into an ancient noble Russian family. He participated in the Seven Year and the First Turkish wars and was promoted to General-in-Chief. As a talented administrator, he achieved high social status, rising from governor of the town of Tver (from 1773) to be deputy Viceroy in the towns of Kaluga and Tula (from 1776) to Steward of Malorossia (modern Ukraine).
Mikhail Krechetnikov wears the uniform of a lieutenant-general decorated with the star and band of the Order of the White Eagle, the Order of Stanislav, and the Annensky Cross with a bow and a diamond epaulette on his left shoulder.
