Museum Director Given Honors for Joint Exhibitions
On 24 June 1999 the Director of the State Hermitage Museum, Mikhail Piotrovsky, was presented with the Swedish Commander of the Royal Order of the Polar Star for his great contribution to the development of Swedish and Russian relationship including the organization of two joint exhibitions Peter the Great and Charles XII and Catherine the Great and Gustav III. These two exhibitions were on display in Stockholm from 1998 to 1999, and now they are both (as a single exhibition) available to the public in the State Hermitage Museum.
The ceremony took place in the Swedish Embassy in Moscow.
