The Beauty of Japan Photographed
The exhibition located in the Twelve-Column Hall of the New Hermitage represents 150 works of the famous masters of the Japanese artistic photography: Watanabe Yoshio (born 1907), Domon Ken (1909-1990) and Ishimoto Yasuhiro (born 1921). The majority of the works relate to the post-war period and reflect the main tendencies in the Japanese photography of the time.Through shooting the classical images of the Japanese culture and art, and the beauty of its nature, the masters strived to express their personal attitude to the subject, and make every photo unique and specific.
