YAKOVLEV VLADIMIR ANATOLYEVICH

Was born on November 25, 1944 in Olyokminsk (Yakutia), where his mother was evacuated from the sieged Leningrad.
Graduated from the Leningrad mounting technical college and North-Western correspondence polytechnic institute with the specialization in "electrical machinery".
Since 1965 was the foreman, Chief Engineer, the Head of the Industrial Department of the Major Repair Office of the Leningrad Municipal Executive Committee. During 1977-1982 was the Manager of the Municipal Repair and Construction Trust N 4, then - the Deputy Chairman of Dzerzhinsky District Executive Committee. Since 1987 was the Deputy Head of the Housing Administration of the Leningrad Municipal Executive Committee, later - the Chief Engineer in the Territorial Department of the Housing Economy.
Since January 1993 appointed to be the Mayor Deputy, since December 1993 till June 1996 was the First Mayor Deputy, since 1994 - the First Deputy Chairman of St.-Petersburg Government - the Chairman of the Municipal Economy Administration Committee.
On June 2, 1996 was elected to be the Governor of St.-Petersburg.
